Song Choice

We have chosen to create a music video to Thom Yorke - Harrowdown Hill. I think that this song has an unusual tempo and lyrics. We wanted to create a video with a narrative which would create a cognitive response from the audience. We want to make this music video revolving around one person telling their story and showing how the world and government affects them. We have looked at the existing video for this song which is here:

The song is from the 2006 album named 'The Eraser'. It was Thom Yorke's first official solo single. The video was released on the 31 July and was directed by Chel White.

First Ideas

Our first idea was to create a movie trailer as we thought it would be a good idea and something we can be original with. We wanted to do a horror genre as it would be interesting and we could use a lot of special effects, different camera angles, and sound effects to get a surreal eerie look.

We couldn't carry out this idea as it might be too much work to come up with the storyline for the whole movie and also getting all the actors needed to make it look like a real trailer. We instead decided to do a music video as it would be easier to come up with a narrative for the video because of the song.

Here are some of our song choices and music videos that we looked at:
Placebo- Song To Say Goodbye
Snow Patrol- Signal Fire
The Fray- Heartless
The Fray- Never Say Never
Thom Yorke- Harrowdown Hill
Lykke Li- Until We Bleed
